Inspired by shweshwe, a distinctive African textile known for its intricate patterns and bright colors, similar to the Ukrainian vishyvanka. Though shweshwe's origins trace back to Europe, it has become a symbol of Southern African identity, much like how vishyvanka represents Ukrainian cultural values. Jonty chose symbols common to both textiles—circles for eternity and divine energy, squares for peace and prosperity—as a tribute to what Ukraine continues to fight for. Despite differing origins, Jonty connects these textiles' cultural importance, crafting an egg that symbolizes unity, resilience, and hope across diverse cultures.
